As an education marketing and communications agency, Grisko helps education institutions and advocates reach a fundamental goal: create quality opportunities for students.
From expanding college campuses to advancing public high school graduation rates and championing changes in national policy for a better skilled workforce, Grisko has comprehensive communications experience in the education sector.
Our PR and marketing strategies in K-12, higher education, adult education and workforce development have led to increased academic enrollment, performance, deeper community engagement and policy change.
The Joyce Foundation aims to improve the quality of life in the Great Lakes region and across the country, with education as a core focus. Grisko served as a key strategic communications advisor to the Foundation’s leadership team, elevating the organization as thought leaders on Illinois education reform policy. Through public relations, Grisko also generated media interest for the Foundation’s national and local education and workforce development grant announcements.
A bipartisan advocacy group, Advance Illinois seeks to implement a public education system that prepares all students for college and work. Grisko guided the organization during negotiations for a heated, yet landmark, education reform bill in Illinois, and through strategic message development and public relations, elevated its role as a key negotiator and policy shaper.
VOA Associates, a leading Chicago architecture firm, has an award-winning education design practice, creating inspiring environments for major learning institutions. Grisko partnered with VOA and its education clients to raise the profile of new campus additions in the media, including one of the most highly acclaimed additions to Chicago’s skyline: Roosevelt University’s new vertical campus tower. Additional public relations projects included a South Side learning garden for Chicago Public Schools, the new Old Town School of Folk Music building in Lincoln Square and an experiential learning community at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
On behalf of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Joyce Foundation, Grisko organized an unprecedented education policy forum that drew hundreds of legislators, community leaders and educators to examine how to maximize education investment in Illinois.
Illinois Network of Charter Schools (INCS) called on Grisko for strategic communications to increase legislative and public awareness about the need to lift the cap on the number of charters permitted in Illinois. Through a statewide PR campaign, we put a human face to the issue, working directly with parents, principals and community leaders across Illinois to identify community-specific charter school success stories to pique the interest of the media. In less than six months, Grisko doubled favorable news coverage about Illinois charter schools, reaching target audiences in every corner of the state from Rockford to Chicago to East St. Louis.
Illinois Works for the Future (IWF) is a statewide campaign led by the Chicago Jobs Council, with a mission to connect the state’s workforce and economic development systems. At a time when strong, integrated economic and workforce development strategies are critical to Illinois’ future, Grisko provided a platform for ideas, conversation and action. We established a communications foundation through an engaging website and e-newsletter, and provided partner organizations with tools to promote the campaign to their networks for a broader reach. Grisko also provided media relations counsel to position IWF as a thought leader. Grisko enabled the IWF campaign to connect with its target audiences and deliver critical information to endorsers on a regular basis.
